Tympanometry is the measurement of the ease with which sound flows through the eardrum membrane while air pressure against the membrane is varied. This test is often used to help determine the presence of ear infections and other middle ear conditions.

  • Complete Audiological Evaluations
An Audiological Evaluation measures hearing sensitivity. It can be comprised of many specific tests some of which are:

    1. Pure Tone air conduction (headphones) testing and bone coduction (oscillator behind-the-ear) testing.
    2. Speech Recognition Testing (SRT).
    3. Word Recognition Testing also known as Speech Discrimination Testing.
    4. Tone Decay Testing.
    5. Immittance Testing (Tympanometric measurements and acoustic reflex testing).

  • Assistive Listening Devices
We carry many and have access to a complete range of assistive listening devices for the hearing impaired. These devices may:

    1. Help you to hear the television better.
    2. Help you enjoy a night out at the movies or hear a live show.

    7. Alert you to an emergency situation such as a fire.

  • Ear Molds, Swim Molds & Noise Protectors
Ear Molds - A hard or soft plastic or silicone ear prosthetic that is molded to fit the user's ear and generally has a short tube attached. It channels sound from the earhook or receiver of a hearing aid into the ear canal.

Swim Molds - are to be used to prevent water from entering the ear canal. Water can cause infection in an ear which has a tube inserted by an ear doctor.

Noise Protectors - as well as Musicians Plugs are used to protect the ear from the potential damaging effects of intense noise levels.

  • Oto-Acoustic Emissions Testing
A quick automatic test which evaluates the integrity of the inner ear. Sounds generated by energy produced by a specific region of the cochlea (inner ear or hearing organ) and detected with a microphone placed within the external ear canal.

  • Counseling & Rehabilitation
Counseling and rehabilitation for patients and their families.
